Proud new parents John Legend and wife Chrissy Teigen are showing off their baby girl.
The happy couple shared the first photo of their newborn daughter, Luna Simone Stephens. The photo shows Luna, whose nickname is Lulu, cradled in Teigen’s right hand as her proud mom caresses her forehead with her left.
“Hi my lulu,” Chrissy captioned the photo, which also shows their dog Pippa.
Legend shared a close-up photo of his daughter.
Luna was born Apr. 14, but her famous parents waited until Apr. 17 to announce the bundle of joy’s arrival.
“I am conscious of what people want to see and what they don’t want to see, or what they see through completely,” she told PEOPLE. “We’re not going to go out of our way to hide because obviously it’s such a big part of our lives to show everything: the inside of our homes, my parents living with us, our animals, everything. I’m not going to do sneaky back shots of her or anything.”
Teigen and Legend have been open in discussing the fertility problems they faced while trying to get pregnant for the past several years. She told People in February that having a girl specifically was something she actually chose for herself.
“I picked the girl from her little embryo,” she explained. “I picked her and was like, ‘Let’s put in the girl.'” From the picture, she seems quite content with her decision to have little “Lulu.”
